About The Department

The Department of Computer Science and Applications was established in 2006 with a vision to cultivate the professionals of tomorrow. With the pervasive influence of computers, the department currently serves over 5000 students, addressing various computing needs.

Its objectives are well-defined:

  • Providing a robust learning methodology encompassing both hardware and software development.
  • Cultivating problem-solving skills using computers.
  • Offering high-quality education aimed at holistic student development.
  • Instilling moral values and fostering a professional outlook in students.

Special Features

Students have access to teaching labs, a massive collection of software, and high-performance research computers. As expected, classrooms employ advanced technology, hardware facilities, the department has 03 Computers Labs equipped with printers ( Laser & Dot Matrix), CD writers, DLP Projectors, Laptops, Webcams, etc. along with the required software’s and Internet Facility and Audio-Visual Teaching aids.

1. Computer Labs: Equipped with state-of-the-art computers, software applications, and high-speed internet connectivity for hands-on practical sessions and project work.
2. Specialized Software: Access to a wide range of specialized software tools and programming environments for various domains such as software development, data analysis, Hardware, etc.
3. Networking Infrastructure: Robust networking infrastructure including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls to support networking courses, and practical exercises.
4. Project Development Facilities: Facilities for hardware prototyping, Printing, and electronics experimentation to support projects involving embedded systems, IoT (Internet of Things), and robotics.
5. Virtual Learning Environment: A robust virtual learning environment (VLE) or learning management system (LMS) for hosting course materials, assignments, quizzes, and facilitating online discussions and collaboration.

institutions.
7. Technical Support Services: On-site technical support services and helpdesk assistance for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving connectivity issues, and providing technical guidance to students and faculty.
8. Industrial Visits, Guest Lectures, Seminars/Webinars, and Workshops: The department organizes industry visits, invites guest speakers for lectures, conducts seminars/webinars, and hosts workshops to expose students to real-world scenarios and enhance their awareness.
9. Departmental Library: A departmental library with over 200 books is available to motivate students for self-learning and research.
10. E-Waste Management System: Proper disposal of electronic waste, including computers, printers, and laboratory equipment, is ensured through approved agencies as per pollution control board guidelines.
11. Adiantum Plant: An Adiantum plant is installed to absorb radiation emitted from computers and printers, promoting a healthier work environment.
12. Publication of E-Magazine: The department publishes a yearly e-magazine named "Tech-Mania"; to showcase student projects, research, and achievements.
13. E-Materials and Google Classroom: Lecture notes and teaching materials are provided in electronic format, and teaching and assignments are managed
through Google Classroom for efficient communication and collaboration.
