What Constitutes Ragging?
Ragging includes but is not limited to the following acts by any student or group of students:
Acts of Indiscipline or Teasing: Behaviour characterized by rudeness or mischief.
Disruption of Academic Activities: Preventing or disturbing normal educational processes.
Psychological or Physical Harm: Actions causing annoyance, hardship, fear, or apprehension.
Financial Exploitation: Forcing expenditure or extorting money.
Physical Abuse: Inflicting harm, assault, or endangering health.
Verbal or Digital Abuse: Using offensive words, emails, SMS, or public insults.
Violation of Dignity: Infringing on fundamental human rights or personal dignity.
Criminal Acts: Including wrongful confinement, molestation, criminal intimidation, or conspiracy.
The Anti-Ragging Cell strives to create and sustain a safe, inclusive environment. It works through the following:
Advisory Oversight: Supervising strategies to ensure a ragging-free campus.
Proactive Measures: Regular checks in hostels, classrooms, canteens, and other student gathering areas.
Awareness Campaigns: Conducting orientations and programs to educate students about the consequences of ragging.
Disciplinary Actions for Ragging
Depending on the severity of the offense, disciplinary actions include:
1. Cancellation of admission.
2. Withdrawal of scholarships or other benefits.
3. Prohibition from examinations or college representation.
4. Expulsion from the hostel or college.
