National Service Scheme (NSS)
NSS unit of SHGC registered in 2009 and at present consist of 2 unit of 100 student each register in Barkatullah University and 1 self-financing unit of 50 units also.
NSS conducts routine activities throughout the year besides holding a camp in the adopted village for seven days.
Other types of camps are also organized by NSS like blood donation camp, thyroid detection camp, thalassemia camp, aids awareness camp, environmental awareness rallies etc.
NSS is a powerful scheme run efficiently by college leading to State level and National level awards to our student volunteers.
Every year an award is given by the institution to the best NSS volunteer. This acts as a motivational factor and promotes NSS amongst students.
SHGC is consist of RED RIBBON CLUB and CHILD PROTECTION CLUB.
Some of our crest on the waves are:
National Level National Service Scheme Award (Formerly known as Indira Gandhi National Award) by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. 2 volunteers of our college (PreetiShehrawat in 2012-13 and Mansi Tirthani in 2018) are being awarded.
State Level National Service Scheme Award- under Volunteer Category 3 NSS Volunteers (PreetiShehrawat for 2011-12, Richa Trivedi for 2012-13 and Nabahat Hasan for 2016-17) and under Program Officer Category Ms. MeenakshiShrivastava for 2016-17 was awarded.
NSS unit of the College was Awarded National Level Red Ribbon Club Award by NAACO.
MP’s First Girls College with the largest number of girls being selected for Republic Day Parade Camp and have represented Madhya Pradesh on 26th January, New Delhi.
NSS volunteers of our college are selected to represent the college at various camps such as District Level Camp, State Level Camp, National Integration Camp, NSS Mega Camp, National Adventure Camp, Regional NSS Program like Pre RDC/ RDC and National Service Scheme Convention in National Youth Festival Camp.
International Youth Exchange by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports- 3 of our volunteers have represented India in China (PreetiShehrawat in the year 2011, Nabahat Hasan in the year 2016 and Mansi Tirthani in the year 2019).
Volunteers are the recipient of Awards at various Levels including the College Level NSS Award, University Level NSS Awards, State Level NSS Awards and National Level NSS Award.
Program Officers along with the volunteers work tirelessly for the development of adopted village and rural slumps for the betterment of less privileged people especially children with the motive to "Develop Student Personality through Community Services
Various Programs run by NSS in collaboration with eminent NGOs, Organizations and Institutions like UNICEF, WALMI, FPAI, SBI, to name a few.
