The Women’s Cell at Sant Hirdaram Girls College was established to empower young women to become valuable contributors to the global society. By providing quality higher education, the cell aims to nurture intellectual growth alongside spiritual, cultural, and ethical values. It supports students in attaining emotional, physical, and mental resilience to navigate the changing phases of life, while enhancing self-esteem and personal empowerment.
The cell encourages students to broaden their academic horizons by introducing job-oriented and market-driven courses, creating a balanced blend of knowledge and practical skills.
In alignment with the Vishaka judgment and Sec 6(2) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, Redressal) Act, 2013, the college has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to address and resolve issues related to sexual harassment faced by students or female staff.
Beyond legal support, the Women’s Cell organizes sessions on mental health, legal awareness, gender equality, fitness, and literary events to provide students a platform for self-expression. Working closely with the ICC, the cell serves as a strong support system, offering guidance, perspective, and empowerment to all students.
To groom women to face life’s challenges with confidence, enabling them to realize their full potential and positively influence society. The cell acts as a facilitator for young women to grow into empowered, socially responsible leaders.
