Department of Physics and Mathematics organised
Intercollegiate Certificate Course on "Robotics" in association with Robonauts India, Bhopal from 21st to 25th August 2023.
The aim of the certificate course is to impart technical training to students for using autonomous systems to perform relevant and delicate tasks in the fast growing world.
Day 1:
The program started with the inaugural session and afterwards, the experts Mr Arpit Soni and Mr Mohit Vishwakarma introduced about the certificate course. The entire session was divided into a hands-on theory & practical session. They also explained Arduino IDE platform for programming, basic circuit designing with electronics components. The course concluded with a doubt session.Total enrolled students were 57 from various colleges UTI-RGPV, LNCT , Oriental & IES etc.
We are grateful to our respected Principal ma'am and Management for their support in organizing this certificate course.
Day 2:
Introduction of infra-red Sensor Module, use of IR sensor as Arduino input unit, Basic Circuit implementation of IR Sensor, DC motors control vie IR sensor.Introduction of 3- & 4 - wheel robot structure design, construction of 3- wheel robot body with DC motor and castor wheel, connection of Arduino with motor driver module , Infrared sensor and power unit. Programming and implementation of IR based line follower robot.
Day 3:
Introduction of 3- and 4- wheel robots structure design, construction of 3 wheel robot body with DC motor and caster wheel, connection of Arduino with motor derive module, infrared sensor and power unit. Programming and implementation of IR based line follower robots.
Day 4:
An exhibition was organised of the robots made by the trainee during the certificate course such as Spider robot
Line follower,
Depth detector &
Object detector Robot for our students in the commerce wing. After the exhibition a guest lecture was planned in which speaker Dr. Ekta Jain, Professor, Department of Applied Science, SIRT- Excellence , Bhopal delivered an interesting session on "Robotics Ethics & Laws" she explained the ethics and laws of robotics, the difference between Robotics, Automation and Artificial Intelligence, applications of Robotics etc. it was an interactive and informative session for our students. After this a debate competition on "Will Artificial Intelligence Destroy Humanity?" was successfully completed, Dr. Neha Gupta, HOD Language Department & Ms. Shazia Khan, HOD Biotechnology were the judges of the Debate Competition. The zeal and enthusiasm of the student for this competition was extraordinary, overall 16 students participated in the debate for and against the motion.
Day 5:
A Quiz competition was organised for the self assessment of students , this quiz was fully based on four days training done by our experts. The valedictory session started with the Report Reading of the certificate course by the Program convener Prof. Jyoti Singh. Following this the students shared their experiences of training of certificate course on Robotics. Afterwards prize distribution was held. Certificates of training program and debate competition were distributed to the winners. The students debated on the topic " Will Artificial Intelligence destroy humanity", Speaking for the motion, Mr. Mohtashim Farooqui and speaking against the motion Ms. Deepika Mewada stood first. The Guests were felicitated according to our college tradition with Shawl, shreephal and memento. The entire veledictory program was conducted by Ms Pragya Gupta, a student of MSc I semester.
